If you are intending to migrate servers where you have PTX Encryption and or Drive installed there are a few things to consider. This article will guide you and your IT in what is required during this process.
Encryption Service
When migrating the Encryption service, you will need to take a copy of the config.ini file, this is located in C:\Program Files\Bottomline Technologies\Bottomline Encryption Services.
You will need to contact Support to obtain the installation for this software (this encryption service incurs a cost; therefore, is not publicly accessible with a download link) we will send this over secure mail for you to install on the new server. The contact details for support are at the bottom of this article.
Once installed, you will need to paste in the config.ini file from the old server to the new in the same installation directory C:\Program Files\Bottomline Technologies\Bottomline Encryption Services
If you use PT-X Drive to automate uploads AND the “watch folder” directories will be different, you will need to update the config.ini file INPUT and OUTPUT location.
The INPUT location will be where you or your CRM system generates the file to.
The OUTPUT location will be the same as the “watch folder” location.
Once ready, you can restart the Bottomline Encryption service.
Drive Service
When migrating the Drive service, the current service will need to be stopped and then you can install Drive on the new server.
You will need to copy the existing settings.xml file to the same directory (usually located C:\PT-X Drive\settings.xml)
If the servers have a proxy on, then please copy the existing net.properties file usually located C:\PT-X Drive\jre1.7.0_75\lib
If only the new server has a proxy on, then please update the net.properties (after installing Drive) file usually located C:\PT-X Drive\jre1.7.0_75\lib with the proxy details and amend to “true” this line:
java.net.useSystemProxies=false
Including this section with the HTTPS port details (remove the comment “#” too):
# https.proxyHost=
# https.proxyPort=
If the directory paths on the current server and the new server will be the same, then no changes within PT-X will be required, just ensure the Drive service has permissions to the watch folder directories for everything to run smoothly.
If the directory paths will be different, please ensure a PT-X admin updates the “Watch Folder” directories under each payment profile in PT-X via Settings – Payment Profiles – View Profile Name – File Import tab.
Once this is done, you are ready to run the Drive install copying the Settings.xml file and net.properties file (if required) to the same retrospective directories as before.
If the old version of Drive is earlier than version 2.1.0, you may need to re-create the settings.xml file to be read correctly, rename the settings.xml and run the Drive.bat file (you will require the PT-X Drive Credentials at hand to complete this) it will prompt you for each of your setting options, which you can read from the previous settings.xml file.
You should now be ready to restart or start the Drive service.
