Most internet browsers will automatically store (or prompt) user information locally on a user’s machine when visiting web sites. These are called ‘Cookies’ and generally store information like settings, location, and password information.
Whilst logging into PT-X, you may find that the browser will prompt or automatically complete password information; which if stored, can lock out an account (if an older password/username).
If this has occurred, we suggest clearing out the cache and any stored password information that the browser may hold. To do this, follow the below steps.
If you are unsure with any of the below steps, you may want to consult with your Internal IT teams, before proceeding:
Open an new tab and navigate to chrome://settings/passwords and where needed, remove any saved passwords associated with pt-x.com
You may also wish to turn off Auto Sign-in or disable the offering to save passwords.
Open a new tab and navigate to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData and where needed, clear any stored browser data; choosing either Basic or Advanced.
Advanced option will allow for more bespoke browser data to be removed, such as form data, passwords, and autofill form data.
Open a new tab and navigate to the open menu in the top right hand corner, then choose options or copy this link into your browser: about:preferences#privacy under Forms & Password, click ‘Saved Logins’ highlighting the older logon details and ‘Remove’. Exceptions can also be added that will prevent the browser from prompting to save passwords.
Open a new tab and navigate to the open menu in the top right hand corner, then choose options or copy this link into your browser: about:preferences#privacy under ‘Cookies and Site Data’, choose either, ‘Clear Data’ to delete all stored cookies, ‘Manage Data’ to clear pt-x.com site cookies only or ‘Exceptions’ to add exception to storing cookie data.
