You can validate a IBAN using PTX Verify.
Single Account
Simple Validation
The simple IBAN service validates:
- the country code.
- that the length of the IBAN is correct for the country.
- the checksum.
Note: It does not validate the domestic account details within the IBAN.
- Log in to the PTX Verify User Interface.
- Click the International Banking tab.
- Click the IBAN tab.
- Select Single for validation type.
- Select Simple for validation method.
- Enter the IBAN details.
- Click Validate IBAN.
- The validation result is displayed.
Advanced Validation
In addition to the simple check the advanced validation method deconstructs the IBAN and validates the domestic account details.
- Log in to the PTX Verify User Interface.
- Click the International Banking tab.
- Click the IBAN tab.
- Select Single for validation type.
- Select Advanced for validation method.
- Enter the IBAN details.
- Click Validate IBAN.
- The validation result is displayed.
Multiple Accounts
You can validate multiple IBANs by uploading a batch file.
- Log in to the PTX Verify User Interface.
- Click International Banking tab.
- Click the IBAN tab.
- Click Batch for validation type.
- Select the validation method.
- Click Select file to upload a file.
- Select the file format.
- CSV - plain text format in which values are separated by commas (Comma Separated Values)
- Fixed-width - fixed-width text file arranged in rows and columns, with one entry per row. Each column has a fixed width, specified in characters, which determines the maximum amount of data it can contain. No delimiters are used to separate the fields in the file.
- Specify which columns the IBAN can be found.
- To exclude the validation of rows at the beginning or end of the file, select Ignore rows at the beginning or end of the file, and then choose which first and last rows to ignore.
- To have email confirmation after processing, select Send me an email when finished processing, and then enter the email address.
- Click Validate file.
- The validation result is displayed.
